Necro help
Making this into a thread since no one bothers in the stickys..
I haven't acsended (sorry is spelled wrong). I'm only a lvl 19 right now and getting close to lvl 20 I've only made it up to Ventari's Refuge (kinda leveled a lot in presear and cleaned every quest in Ascalon) and right now I'm at a decision what what to do with my Necro... I feel a lot of times I'm useless and dumb.. and not knowing what I'm doing.. Not skill wise but more on what skills to bring..
Stats-N/ME
Blood-12 (9+2)
Death-12 (10+1)
SoulReaping-8 (7+1)
Curse-0
And all my Mes skills are 0 as well simply because I don't know how to sync the two and two together just right in PvE. I've been throwig my points around and I decided to be a Nuke or a someone who sucks the life out of the foe (degenerate their life fast like rotting flesh etc.)
Skills
Name-Dmg
Vamp Gaze - 52 steal
Vamp Touch - 65 Steal
Putrid-Corpse=101dmg
Rotting Flesh-22 secs
Shadow Strike-41
Life Siphon-22sec-degenlife by 3
Soul Feast- corpse=Gain 234 life
Well of Suffering-corpse= 18sec degen life by 4
(Obviously shortened because everyone would know exactly what they are)
Well anyway I feel I'm not killing them fast enough obviously due to the casting time. I depend on others too much which is a bad thing and I hate that.. don't want to bring a team down because they have to watch me.
So anyway I like the minions (I once saw a lvl 15 Necro wipe the board with ten minions Horrors and Fiends and healing them I thought that was neat but not me..) But I want to drain their life easily and once that body falls watch it explode.. but I take forever on one foe I can't kill more than one without critically getting hurt... Any suggestions? Just keep doing missions or get to forge or something to get better skills (I do like the ones I have now) or am I just not getting it?
Update- I've changed the Skills around a little.
Dark Pact- sac 10% hp to deal 40 shadow cost5 eng
Vamp Gaze (look above)
Touch of Agony- Sac 10% deal 50 shadow (touch) cost5 eng
Vamp Touch (see above)
Life Siphon (above)
Putrid explosion (above)
Soul Feast (above
Well of suffering (above)

curses are awesome, you should check that aspect of a necro out.
I ascended, etc, trying to finish the game, and I had hardly anything in blood until yesterday, when I finally got Well of Power.
Curses are really , really cool.

What are you trying to do with this build? It doesn't seem to have any purpose; it doesn't look very powerful, doesn't look like it'd help your team, and it doesn't look like it'd detriment warriors or casters.

I actually don't know.. Still new to everything so bear with me. I kind of want to do as much damage to foes. but.. I don't know if there's a such thing as a Necro nuker with Mesmer skills.

I love my necro(although I'm a minion master) But you seem focused on the high dps... my suggestion with your build is to get the skill "vile touch" deals ALOT of dmg ignoring armor... the attack sequence goes something like. rotting Flesh, life siphon, shadow strike, vamp gaze, vile touch, vamp touch, well of suffering and if you were lucky enough to have taken out someone else it\n the process putrid explosion. The best thing to do is just expirament with the skills you have and the diferent attacks you can string together.

What to do
Looks as if you have the same problem I had.
Too much to choose from.
(Kinda like being in the candy store.)
My suggestions (also how I worked myself out of my predicament)
Fo rth etime being drop the use of your ME skills unless y9ou are going into a situation where they might be needed.
My secondary was Ele so I only equiped Ele skills when the group had no other Ele.
For your primary Necro:
Plan on keeping SR as high as you can I keep mine at around 12 or so.
Believe me SR at a high number will pay off.
Split you AP between either Blood or Death-
Try not to mix and match Blood and Death spells because this makes it very difficult to determione which is better - and curses depending on the skills you have available. Run with that combination for a while. Swap in and out some of the other Blood or Death spells - remember not to mix and match. then switch to the other. If you did Blood now do Death.
Once you've experienced these yuo will know where to put your Necro talents. Then you have to mix in your ME stuff.
One thing you should know Learn everything you can about Mezzers skills.
I now enough to be very afraid of Mezzers.
Warriors to limited I can dance out of their reach I don't plan on getting within smelling distance of a sweaty warrior.
Monks are to easy to distract. They are too busy watching little red bars associated with tanking Eles to be of much concern.
I have yet to meet a Ranger -BTW Rangers are the second most awsome profession- right behind Necro that is- where he can shoot me full of arrows while I'm up close and personal ripping his heart out.
BUT---
Mezzers give me nightmares (are nightmaes a good thing or a bad thing to Necros?).
A Mezzer is the one person that can cram everything I have right back in my face and ignore me at the same time.
Once I recover from an encounter with a mezzer I tell them I usually get dinner and drinks first!
All of the above is just my opinion and it boils down to:
Run Bool with no (maybe 1 death skill) then switch out blood for death.
A mix of both may work but will probably result in a mediocre character.
Use curses to "buff" your ohter skills.
After you have settled on blood or death mixed with curses work your Me skills into the makeup.
Regardlees when you finish you should have a character that makes Rambo look like a wose or you';ll be lurking in the background being devastingly and unnoticed by the damage dealers that are breaking thier arms pating themselves on the back about how easily and quickly they destroyed the enemy.
As a Necro you have to remember this- Imps may drop firey and frozen hearts but people drop bloody hearts and we really love blood. Lots and Lots of blood!!!
Mix in a healthy dose of curses and ME skills and

You kind of got cut off at the end. o.o;
Anyway I'll try to switch my skills arounf the only problem is my APs
I don't want to spread myself out to thin in every kind of Attribute and then suck at almost everything.. well it seems that would happen..
And Yellow Lid I've already had sets you've mentioned before (the skills) and they haven't proven to be very useful when I know what I'm doing.
